Soccer (football) musings... :: [2009-05-27] @ [3:28 p.m.]

Watching the UEFA Championship match between Manchester United and Barcelona. I really don't Manchester United. They have too much money, manage to pick all the good players because they can afford it, and they have Ronaldo. Yet these qualities I don't like about Manchester United also makes me respect them as a time. They are freaking amazing. I'm half-heartedly rooting for them to defend their title last year even though I really want Barcelona to win.

But this is a minor distraction for the disappointement I am still feeling from Newcastle's match against Aston Villa this past Sunday. They got relegated :( I am hoping they can turn their season the Coco-Cola championship to a mighty one and get back up in the Premiereship. I've even read talk of Alan Shearer possibly being the new manager. Don't know what exactly to make of this.

There is still, what looks like, one more game left in Serie A. A.C. Milan is second right now, with Inter of course being first. I really can care less about Beckham. I do love watch Milan though when I get the chance.

It is hard sometimes though for me to really get caught up games if I am not favoring a particular team, which is not to say I won't watch if Newcastle, Milan or Celtic isn't playing. It's hard to follow the MLS because I don't favor a particular team. Sometimes Chivas USA or Columbus Crew. Recently the Seattle Sounders. I might try to find another team to cheer for in the Premiere league until Newcastle gets back up there. I have been fond of Tottenham Hotspur, so maybe I can follow them next season.

Anyways, Manchester United is suffering right now. I still think it can be anyone's game.
